This is Trump’s largest lead since his convention in July.
Judging from his gains, instead of being transient, it looks like its going to be durable.
Looks that way, but don't be surprised if the trend reverses. Today's average of 7 samples uses fewer voters than yesterdays average of 7 samples. What looks like a gain could be nothing more than "dropping off" a one day sample that favored Crooked.
I looked closer because the African American "one sample jump" (one sample stays in the "average pool" for 7 days) of two weeks ago isn't exactly repeating. The African American share went from 12 to 17. Could be that a sample heavy in African Americans was dropped (causing the average there to jump for a second day).
I think it will take another week, more or less, to see if Trump is "pulling ahead in the polls."
I think her performance with Matt Lauer was the start of a clear fall. I also think this "deplorables" story is a nice cover provided by Trump, because the real reason for Crooked drop is concern over her health.
