with all due respect to an otherwise excellent post, I ask where we an be able to confront the opposition, without the confrontation devolving into chaos...Facebook is an obvious example; most FB’ers are devout liberals, as we know, but that shouldn’t preclude productive debate. However, with Trump, they cannot contain themselves, and debate falls victim to frothing rage...I encountered this with several of my classmates, all of us 50 years removed from high school, who supposedly have a bond with me; the past ties that bind are no match for the current political scene, and on a civil day they curtly dismiss me...on a butthurt day, they foam at the mouth, sayng ‘spare us your inane diatribes’...
the opposition is in no mood to listen to reasoned debate; they have crystallized all their boogeymen into this election, and anything less than outright rancor will not suffice...
