Bigger question is why, after all these years, do the American media still accept at face value everything she and her husband--and now, their daughter--say, write or have conveyed to them through a spokesperson?
In the great journalistic tradition of reporting all points of view on controversial or poorly-researched topics--an alien concept to the current tribe of scribes--the verb "alleged" and its adverb counterpart "allegedly" had an important role to play. When there was some doubt about the veracity of a statement given to a reporter, it wasn't just regurgitated as fact. There was nearly always an out, such as "according to . . " or "allegedly" to cover the reporter's (and, indirectly, his editor's) butt.
"Hillary was diagnosed last Friday with pneumonia" is a perfect example of the short-cuts today's news readers take. According to whom? And what did she have before the sudden onset of pneumonia?
Oh, sure: she was in fine health. Chelsea can vouch for that.
Liars and their sycophants vs. the American public.
Shirley you gist! Didn't you know, the American media are owned whores, owned by the paymasters in the oligarchy who instruct them what to think, write, and believe.
