When our son turned 6, my husband and I bought him a puppet theater and a chest of dress-up clothes because he liked to put on plays. We filled the chest with 20 items from Goodwill, mostly grown-man attire: ties, button-down shirts, a gray pageboy cap and a suit vest.

But we didn’t want his or his castmates’ creative output to be curtailed by a lack of costume choices, so we also included high heels, a pink straw hat, a dazzling fairy skirt and a sparkly green halter dress.

He was thrilled with these presents. He put on the sparkly green dress right away. In a sense, he never really took it off.

For a while, he wore the dress only when we were at home, and only when we were alone. He would change back into shorts and a T-shirt if we were running errands or had people coming over.

Then we would come home or our guests would leave, and he would change back to the sparkly green dress, asking me to tie the halter behind his neck and the sash around his waist.

Eventually he stopped changing out of it. He wore it to the grocery store and when he had friends over. He wore it to the park and the lake. He wore shorts for camp and trunks for swimming, but otherwise he was mostly in the dress.

My husband and I were never of the opinion that girls should not wear pants or climb trees or get dirty, or that boys should not have long hair or play with dolls or like pink, so the dress did not cause us undue alarm or worry. But school was about to start, and we found ourselves at a crossroads.

Don’t be surprised if he eventually kills himself.

I hope not. There's no way to know if this kid is a genuine transgender person or just a kid going through a goofy phase. I hope it is a goofy phase because you are right, "true" transgendered have disproportionate levels of extreme depression and suicide. Those are stats, not opinion.

Now for some opinion: they are not mentally ill because they are transgendered. They are transgendered because they are mentally ill. And society now calls for them to be humored rather than helped. It will only get worse.

Did they ever offer him a toy gun? Spear? Bow and arrow?

No wonder he turned into a nancy.

As usual, liberals encourage and celebrate mental illness.

Frankly, in these cases, I strongly suspect the Mom is covertly (or overtly) encouraging this behavior

They so badly want to show that it isn't a choice: That people are born that way. This is a religion. If Abraham was willing to do it, why not these parents?

“What does a six-year-old know?”

Exactly. Children need guidance.

When my boys were 4 and 6, we were visiting my parents, and they got into my old closet. They emerged, each one wearing one of my old semi formal dresses that I had worn to weddings.

We took a picture and then their dad told them we now had to change their names to girl names, and they would now be known as Diane and Darlene.

The oldest got mad at him, said they were not girls, and they quickly got out of those dresses. Never happened again.

I’m glad I wasn’t raised in this era. And especially that my parents weren’t.

It’s a terrible thing to learn your child is mentally ill.

Y'all should do an internet search on Tutus for Roo about a 3-y.o. boy named "Roo" being raised by two lesbian women. It's nutty.

The young boy has allegedly told his mothers that "wearing a purple tutu makes him feel brave and strong" as if those words would EVER emit from a toddler's mouth without specific coaching and prompting.

Someone should see if the dad is liking him in those dresses a bit more than he already is.

Those batty “moms” are one thing, but when a dude tolerates this, he is a total punk bitch unworthy of any respect.

Exactly! My hubby’s feminazi ex-shrew (who actually IS a child protective worker; now promoted to supervisor) launched a phoney CPS report on us because we decided the children should do a few chores while at our house (emptying small waste paper baskets; picking up twigs on the front lawn).

Before you know it, she had used her “pull” to get hubby on the NYS Child Abuse and Maltreatment Register via her phoney CPS report. Took me six months to get it overturned. She actually stopped us from receiving the report in a timely manner to refute it and called it a “clerical error.” (yeah, right)

Modern day CPS is just a tool for the liberal dream: “single” moms taking revenge upon dads for DARING to move on in life with someone who won’t try to boss a man around as they did. They’re truly surprised when dad stops kissing their nether quarters and after that it’s scorched earth city.

Meanwhile, across the hall, you can stop in at CSEU and take dad’s wallet for 21 years.

REAL child abuse in inner cities gets a blind eye. Too politically IN-correct and too dangerous for the caseworker.

IOW, they brainwashed the child.

That is a given. All the child knows is what he has been taught. If we were living in a sane World, or Nation, both parents would be arrested for child abuse.

P.S. Seems like Mom has golden uterus syndrome in this story:

You may be on to something. With the increase and acceptance (if not outright promotion) of single-mom parenting for decades, we are now witnessing the result of their “nurturing” and fag-haggery; men that have no concept of how to be men, let alone raise a boy to be one.

Funny thing is, around here, few girls wear dresses to school. Most wear shorts when it’s hot, and jeans or other pants when it’s cooler. I seldom see girls in dresses except for special occasions.

I volunteered to work at a kindergarten day care in a poor
area several years ago. - The mothers were gung-ho about it;
but the daddies not so much. - The man who ran the thing had
a box of “dress-up” clothes out for the kids. One little
BOY donned the pink ruffled dress with a pink boa and a hat.
- The “director” said, “LOOKING GOOD, Kevin!” - The woman
who was the head teacher had tattoos out her wazoo and
seemed “threatened” by me (afraid for her job maybe). -
That night, I packed up my duds & struck out back home the
next morning. (Same thing had happened with the woman who
was there before me - she stayed a very short while and was
SUDDENLY “called back home with her sick husband”. He may
have been sick; but somehow I doubt it.
