I never hurt myself in a seizure but I did fall off a dock once and got fished out of the water by a couple of guys on the boat tied up right there. A deputy who was present wanted to arrest me for drunk and so I had to pay for an ER visit as a condition of not going to jail.
That was the only time I ever got hurt for a seizure.
I did have a seizure while I was driving late at night coming home from a 2nd shift, and crashed my car into a guard rail on a dark road. The crash wasn’t even that bad. If the car wasn’t 11 years old, it wouldn’t have been considered totaled. The Cops at the scene immediately assumed that I was drunk, because I bit my tongue and I was slurring. I was also a bit out of it. They began asking me “circling” questions. Like, where did you come from, where were you going, what time did you leave, what time did you think you would get there, and then they would ask each of the questions over again in a different way. I was becoming increasingly alert, and one of them drove me home.
