'LES DEPLORABLES!' Trump floors cheering Miami crowd as he enters to Broadway anthem (short title)
Daily Mail ^ | September 16, 2016 | David Martosko

Donald Trump unveiled a new visual campaign theme in Miami on Friday – a mashup of the Broadway musical 'Les Misérables' and an epithet Hillary Clinton leveled at his supporters one week ago.

He took the stage, introduced by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, as the 'Les Mis' anthem 'Do You Hear the People Sing' blasted through loudspeakers.

The video screen behind the podium flashed to an artistic rendering of 'Les Deplorables' – pilfered from Reddit – complete with USA and 'Trump' flags replacing the French colors, and a bald eagle soaring over the revolutionary scene.

'Welcome to all of you deplorables!' Trump boomed as thousands screamed 'Trump! Trump! Trump!' and 'We love you!'

Excellent rewrite!

This Les Deplorables meme is the most powerful campaign rallying cry in living memory. It’s much, much bigger than any campaign slogan. Adopting Clinton’s vicious smear as a badge of honor, then tying it to Victor Hugo’s tale of revolution, is sheer brilliance.

If Trump supporters pick up this theme and run with it for the remainder of the campaign, not only will Clinton be defeated resoundingly, the momentum will carry through into Trump’s presidency.

The delicious irony is that Clinton caused this herself. She broke a cardinal rule of politics, by insulting the people, and now she will pay.

If anyone attempts to stop Trump from using the music from Les Miserables at his campaign events, watch and see if his supporters don’t pick up the banner and start singing the music themselves.

I have massive respect for Trump's intellect, but this choice - Les Deplorables - has blown me away.

It's brilliant. He's showcasing haughty corrupt ‘elites’ while bolstering the common man and tying it all to Hillary's arrogance.

Stunning. Brilliant... Better than conning the press into covering 'War Heroes and Good Men' for a twenty minute live commercial. Not enough popcorn to get through this election...

I saw your suggestion and almost replied. A couple of notes on the guitar and a steady drum beat is all that’s needed. The people will do the rest.

The rules about use of music say that 30 seconds can be used.

They played 30 seconds’ worth at the rally yesterday.

At every Trump rally from now on folks should start singing it. Even like in the play where one jumps up and then another joins.

9/10.

It would have been perfect if a Pepe Gavroche had followed him on stage.

“At every Trump rally from now on folks should start singing it. Even like in the play where one jumps up and then another joins.”

I really want to see that happen. We’ve got a campaign theme song now. Let the people sing!

“The rules about use of music say that 30 seconds can be used.”

No one can stop the people from singing it to their hearts’ content. It’s a beautiful thing.

Lol, underestimating the genius of this man has been his key to success all aong. People try to put him in that amateur box, like he doesn’t know what he’s doing - he knows and he’s got the best of the best guiding him. It’s just beautiful. Thank you, Lord God Almighty.

Amen. And keep praying for the protection of Trump/Pence and their families.

This deplorable backlash for Hillary could not be sweeter. The anger it has generated has is fueling all those negative (hilarious) reviews for her book on Amazon.

Soon the MSM media will be talking about the "deplorable factor" and I would bet exit polls on election day will have a question about being a deplorable or not.

In just over 24 hours, Donald John Trump may have just won the election--in possibly a huge landslide. Think about it:

1. His appearance at Trump's new hotel in Washington, DC totally destroyed whatever credibility the Clinton-allied mainstream media (MSM) had left.
2. His entrance using the Les Deplorables graphic and turning the song "Do You Hear the People Sing" into essentially Trump's campaign anthem was nothing short of sensational. He has effectively sucked the oxygen out of whatever was left for the Clinton campaign, and she will never politically recover--period.

How long before they sue him over the usage of the song and visual?’ By Monday he won’t be able to use. I betcha!

This issue has already come up. Trump has paid the licensing fee to use any music he wants at his events. I'm pretty sure the rights holders are forbidden by a turn of the century antitrust law from discriminating against anyone. You pay the fees, you play the music. No choice in the matter.

That's also why Rush Limbaugh is able to use bumper music from so many liberals who wish he'd stop.

This should be Trump’s theme song for the rest of his campaign. Who are the deplorables? Are they the ones getting up every day and going to work to feed themselves and all the free-loaders the Dictator in Chief can overload the system with? Are they the ones that are against Obama who is planting terrorist throughout the heartland of America. The same Obama that is letting hoards of aliens just walk in, added 10 trillion dollars to our debt, cuts our military to the bone, degrades our country everywhere he goes, and is the biggest racist there ever was. And now wants Hillary to carry on his “Death to America.”

Does anyone here know where the Key to the Bastille is and why?

This is good co-opting. I’m just waiting for someone related to that playwright to state that they are ‘OUTRAGED’ at Donald Trump’s
illegal use of this song and storyline. “He never asked US!”.... Said the Nobody.

The playwright co-opted Victor Hugo.

My guess is that Trump is familiar with copyright law.
