ELIZABETH, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A suspicious device was found on the Northeast Corridor train tracks in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Sunday night.
The suspicious item was found in the area of North Broad and Westfield Avenue.
Area businesses have reportedly been ordered to shut down and evacuate as bomb technicians have a robot checking the suspicious device.
A hazmat team has also been requested to the scene.
Police are evacuating and securing the area around the train line.
Service has been temporarily suspended between Newark Airport and Elizabeth stations in both directions.

Amazing - it WAS two people - not a camera - AND they quickly notified the police. Maybe the country’s going to be OK after all... Trains going into or out of the area have been stopped...

Actually the one in Seaside Park looked quite controlled, not much on the boardwalk side but it destroyed the curb on the street side.
Better to happen upon than to be happened upon.
FBI Bomb Squad is on scene and continuing the investigation at the train station in Midtown Elizabeth.

It was an item of interest planted by persons of interest who were escaping in a vehicle of interest.

If I were a betting person I would bet that those Jihadists they arrested earlier were the ones that put the bombs on the train tracks..the Feds probably watched them do it and followed them til they were stopped
