Cheney was right.
The Left uses fear of deficits to block tax cuts. The problem was NEVER deficits, it was over taxing and over spending.
As soon as the focus is put on deficits as being the problem, the Left has won the chess match, because then all tax cuts must first be “paid for” - a rediculous concept if ever there was one.
Reagan knew this when he said take away their wallet.
Cheney was a a good conservative - and all the Cheney bashing on this thread makes me sad. It sounds like all the liberal lies about Cheney are now being repeated on this FR thread.
People who like Cheney like him because he was a fighter. But they don't ask if what he was fighting for was what they're fighting for.
Greater power for the executive branch and more extensive interventions in foreign countries aren't necessary popular causes.
His fans also don't ask about the things the he really didn't put up a fight for because he was so busy with his own agenda.
