During lunch today, I hopped the subway over to 23rd street and took the following four videos. Nothing earth-shattering here but thought those outside of New York might want to get a feel and flavor for the area. Too often our news media concentrates on live shots of the reporter and does not give us much detail as to the surroundings.
Over time, I will go to other areas in NYC that are in the news or of interest and shoot some on-the-street video. For example, I'll do a walkthrough of the public space in the Trump Tower and I'll do a video shoot of the area where HRC took her collapse on 9/11.
I'm no video professional by any means, as you are about to find out, but I'll try to give you all a flavor of NYC from time to time.

By the way, I could not get that close to the actual bombing location as the NYPD had 23rd Street completely sealed off. So I took videos from the vantage points of 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue.

Certainly a different and more real perspective, to me.
My guess is that it was a snafu. Maybe they were headed for a “richer” target but had to dump and run for whatever reason.
Earlier today I heard Shep on Fox say that the Chelsea bomb was detonated in a “Gay” neighborhood.
For some reason I was struck by this.
I mean, there is no avoiding the fact that the Orlando night club was a gay club, but to intentionally identify this Chelsea area as a gay neighborhood seemed odd.
I can’t imagine I’m the only one here that noticed this.
Seems like trying to do a video-recording inside the Trump Towers might lead to a one-on-one chat with the security guards if it’s like some of the other similar buildings I’ve been in.

He sounded disappointed, didn't he, when he added that the area, "like other gay neighborhoods", now has a lot of "stroller pushers". I'd rather have stroller pushers than stool pushers.

I didn’t hear it as “disappointment”.
What I heard in his tone was more defensive, more of a direct attack against the/his “Gay” community.
He could have said any number of things but I got the sense that he went out of his way to call it a gay neighborhood.
My first thought was “Wow, he’s going to get in trouble for saying it’s a Gay neighborhood”.
He spoke of his perceived change in the (gay) neighborhood in a tone many of us would use to describe “yuppies” and so-called “hipsters” moving in and basically ruining, or drastically changing, great neighborhoods we live and/or grew up in.
FYI, Communist Party USA is located at 235 West 23rd St. I believe it’s within a block of the blast site.
Good video which brought me back to my first impression of NYC. That many people around would made me bat s##t crazy. Space, I need space. claustrophobic.
