That is an excellent question. Probably some kind of waiver in the election laws.
It’s like Obama flying to CA for a fund raiser. The tax payer pays for it because Obama shakes the hand of the mayor of some city when he lands so it is technically “official business”.
Then he jumps in the limo which along with other equipment, was flown in on about 5 other Air Force jets.
it’s disgusting.
It seems to me there was a private citizen who made too big a contribution to a Republican candidate and he ended up going to prison for it.
