I had an off shoot of this virus some 30+ years ago and the article is correct, if you don’t get your movements back within year you live with what you get back and essentially there is no treatment other than PT. I was in a wheelchair initially and now walk with canes. The result in my case was no balance and no stamina despite PT. When I stand without canes I am constantly tensing and releasing muscles to maintain balance, I have to think about it, it is not natural anymore. Still beats being in that chair!
Wow, I am sorry to hear that, so you don’t think this is new then? Did yours act like this one, a few days of a slight fever then wham?
