Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is well aware that the outcome of the first presidential debate on Monday isn't just about what the two candidates say on stage, but also about the conversation that takes place around it.
On a conference call with supporters this afternoon, a top aide to Clinton directly asked supporters to use social media during and after the debate at Hofstra University in New York to help shape the conversation positively around the Democratic nominee.
"Reporters certainly view what's happening online," Clinton's deputy communications director Christina Reynolds said, adding it is part of, "how they judge the debate and then how they call the debate -- who won, who lost."
"And this debate even more so," Reynolds added, "as they will actually be tracking analytics of social media."
The campaign's digital director Jenna Lowenstein -- who said that two of the campaign's goals for the night include amplifying Clinton's best moments online and influencing the narrative about who is winning -- told supporters the most "important thing" they can do to help Clinton during the debate is to show their online support for her "early and often."
"It's important that we're not just turning this into the Donald Trump show," Lowenstein said.
In order to do this, she advised supporters to use Clinton's name and handle on Twitter during the debate, as well as the official debate hashtags announced by the debate's organizing commission.
"Those two hashtags are going to curate the conversation that they're going to look at when they're measuring the conversation," Lowenstein explained.
"All those headlines you see the next day -- '50 Percent of People Tweeting Were Supporting Hillary' -- that's the conversation they're going to look at."
She instructed them to, "Tweet early, tweet her name, use those hashtags.”

They believe Trump will be given softer questions than his opponent.
So we know their debate strategy. Have Hillary supporters Tweet that she won, and if that doesn't work, blame the moderator.
I posted an article just the other day that Lester Holt is a Republican. That said, there is no way after what NBC sees as failures with Lauer (and Fallon too) not going after Trump, that Lester isn't going to have tough questions for Trump. I only hope that are as tough for Hillary.
Men like Trump and RUdy dont lose debates because they get tougher questions.
Even Christie.

Why is Christie in there. Because he took out rubio like lawrence taylor took out QBs. Not a good man likely, but a valuable political assassin.
Newt is a statesman and brilliant speaker.
Pence is the aw shucks good guy but firm guy of the bunch
Trump and Rudy are the uber intelligent brawlers.

So let me get this straight. I’m one of those people that haven’t made my mind up yet on who I’m going to vote for, or maybe just open-minded, and I’m watching the debate, and I really liked everything Trump says and think he answered better than Hillary. Then the next morning I find out that most of the people on Twitter and Facebook and a lot of tv pundits thought Hillary did better. Hillary thinks I’m so stupid to change my mind as to what I saw and heard?
I think she should be frisked (strip frisk) to make sure she doesn't have any artificial devices on her.
Exactly, to an extent, but mostly if you watch the game, because you don't mind traitors being disrespectful to our flag, then you'll listen to Hillary's cheerleaders on who won. The narrative will be that Hillary beat "nasty, mean-spirited and dark" Trump. If you didn't watch and don't know better, you will believe them. The target audience for this is the low-information voter who doesn't have any facts. That is the audience Hillary and the democrats always count on.
Alas, 50% of the people have an IQ of less than 100.

One guy from a satellite office with a server in the basement will then propagate the 1 trillion tweets to say Hitlary won. Check those emails carefully!
It's up to Trump to ask her the real questions, such as "Hillary, which of my supporters here in the audience are "Deplorable?' ".

I for one won’t watch this since I already know the results. Trump will get asked to name foreign leaders no one has ever heard of and Hillary will be asked if Trump should be President because he couldn’t pronounce Yakashukhovlofskinich correctly.
The next day, the MSM poll will have Hillary winning 86% to 14% for Trump, Drudge will have it too close to call and CNN will declare that the election is over.
If I was Trump, I would turn this debate around to force Hillary to answer the questions that were asked of him. In other words, a lot of, “You say I haven’t presented a comprehensive plan when in fact I produced several which I have made in speeches. But I am curious to hear about Hillary’s plan since it is not on her web site, she hasn’t talked about it anywhere, and you in the MSM thinks her plan is the better of the two.”
Let the moderator try to deal with this.
