I’m not going to waste my time explaining why.

Why not, whats the matter? I can give you several valid legitimate reasons why he waited until now. He blew it big league at the convention and this is clearly his last ditch effort to save his own career. And if you want to continue supporting this guy and hold him up as some honorable person, no problem. That's your choice.

I’m not a Cruz diehard. In my eyes all political idols have feet of clay, and I criticized Cruz about some things on this forum near the end of his campaign. I support what I think will help this country. I believe Cruz’s endorsement of Trump will do that. (Apparently Trump appreciates it too.)

That's very commendable, but the only thing this may help is Cruz's own career which is down at the bottom of the well. But even that is questionable at this point.

Again, after the horrific spectacle he put on during the primaries, I'd guess those who continue to believe he's an honorable trustworthy person are about as rare as public pay phones.☺
