Clinton struggles to make Obama's coalition her own

Hillary Clinton long planned to activate the vaunted Obama coalition to help carry her to the White House. But a rough month on the trail has exposed a big challenge — the Obama coalition belongs to Barack Obama.

Clinton’s struggle to win over Obama’s supporters — most notably young voters — has served as a reminder that many of them are more loyal to him than to his Democratic Party. Republican Donald Trump’s recent rise in the polls helps demonstrate that Obama’s two victories were more about one man in the right moment than any political realignment.

Rather than showing a formula for winning the White House for years come, as many Democrats hoped, Obama’s coalition may fail to outlast his own presidency. If that happens, Obama — long known for his dislike of party politics — will share some of the blame. …

Just seeing her name in print these days makes me think the unholiest of thoughts.

If "Obama's coalition" had any enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton they would have supported her eight years ago.

I still consider the 2008 primary campaign to be the biggest red flag in Hillary Clinton's political career. If this woman was even remotely cut out to serve as president of the United States, she never would have lost to some jug-eared exchange student from Kenya.

Very interesting little item from this article (the emphasis is mine):

Clinton's vulnerabilities have become glaring. Obama won two-thirds of young voters in 2009, and 60 percent in 2012, according to exit polls. But recent polls have found Clinton is not only shy of Obama's mark but also well behind John Kerry's level of support with young voters when he lost in 2004.

Polling worse than Lurch's 2004 numbers in ANY age/demographic group can't be good for any Democrat.

The Hag's campaign seems to have parallels to the Third Reich during the waning months of World War 2 - always trying to come up with a hastily concocted "super weapon" that will finally, decisively turn the tide against the opposition.

She's resorted to hectoring Stein/GJ millennials in campaign ads.

Because grandma handing out lectures to wayward voters is always a good look for a winning presidential candidate.

Hillary is NOT Obama.

A point Democrats have overlooked for the past eight years.

The qualities that made Obama an electable candidate are missing in Hillary Clinton.

She lost out to him eight years ago.

Just like Mitt lost to the man then on the GOP ballot and he himself went down to defeat four years later.

We’re told Hillary is the candidate would capture the imagination of the country. Turns out that appears to be Donald Trump.

There are plenty of reasons Hillary won’t win but they all boil down to the fact she ain’t the Magic Negro.

Hillary struggles to wipe her own bottom with a plastic stick.
It’s incredible she’s actually a candidate, but Obama set the bar just about on the ground.

Obama may be popular but the month has illustrated it isn’t transferable to Hillary.

Democrats are coming out to see him - not her. Therein lies Hillary’s problem.

Hillary can’t capture what made people so enthusiastic about Obama.

People are just not into her.

Clinton’s struggle to win over Obama’s supporters — most notably young voters — has served as a reminder that many of them are more loyal to him than to his Democratic Party.

Apparently everyone on earth except Hillary Clinton knew that it was a personality cult instead of a mass demand for corrupt democrat party governance.
