I hope you can find it. That light bulb moment occured in the 70’s, but remember it vividly. I’ve since read Victor Hugo’s book, “The Man Who Laughed” from which the story of the Comprachicos is taken. I believe it is the opening of the novel. Our kids read Hugo, with assistance, at 12-14 years old. The unabridged editions. Are you homeschooling?
