If Hillary loses, Democrats face a long time in exile
New York Post ^ | SEPTEMBER 23, 2016 | Michael Barone

Anti-Trump Republicans hope the Trump effect will just go away, and will note that a defeated Trump will not leave behind much in the nature of an institutional apparatus, as the defeated Barry Goldwater arguably did in 1964. But the argument for going back to pre-Trump positions is weakened by the fact that Republicans have lost four of the six presidential elections between 1992 and 2012.

But what if Hillary Clinton loses? The political map in that case will look quite different, with Democratic states confined to the Northeast, West Coast and a few splotches in between. The presidential Democratic Party, like the congressional Democratic Party, will be concentrated in heavily Democratic central cities, some sympathetic suburbs and scattered university towns.

The shock for Democrats if Clinton loses will likely be more severe than for Republicans if Trump loses.

One option for Democrats would be to moderate their policies, as the New Democrats urged in the 1980s and Bill Clinton did in the 1990s. After all, that proved pretty successful.

Two decades ago, lots of self-described moderates and even conservatives voted in Democratic primaries. Not so these days. The slump in Democratic primary and caucus turnout, from 38 million in 2008 to 31 million in 2016, was due to a sharp decline in turnout by self-described moderates.

Hillary Clinton’s move from her husband’s 1990s triangulation to her near-total acceptance this year of Bernie Sanders’ left-wing platform was a rational response to changes in the Democratic primary electorate.

Communists have a tendency to have an iron grip on power, so they’ve rigged the system which has not allowed any fresh blood.

Now their leaders are like all 80 years old. Hillary and Warren are like the spring chickens.

No not quite. Unfortunately Demographics are still not in the Republicans favor.

Trump could have GDP growth of 4% and budget surpluses and he is still going to have a very hard time winning re-election in 2020.

But this article does touch on something. Hillary will be the last White Democrat nominee ever. White Democrats have been so stupid pandering to every other race that they ended up disenfranchising themselves. Blacks, Hispanics and Muslims will only vote for their own. And it’s only going to get worse. In the next 20-30 years even White Democrat Senators & Representatives will be rare.

Exactly. If Hillary wins, they will flood the country with illegals, and rig the system so that it wont matter if the Dems only run communists from Berkeley. No more worrying about moderating for the suburban vote.

Solitary confinement in Colorado ADX Florence Supermax.

Or any of dozens of other similar maximum security confinement facilities.

Or, Gitmo will soon be available for repopulation.

I don't think so. The Democratic Party will quickly purge anyone associated with the Clintons, who have proved to be the worst influence on the Party since the days of William M. "Boss" Tweed.

No not quite. Unfortunately Demographics are still not in the Republicans favor.

Trump could have GDP growth of 4% and budget surpluses and he is still going to have a very hard time winning re-election in 2020.

Trump wins and the flow of illegals stop and reverses.
If Trump can improve the economy and increases the living standard for blacks, you will see a larger increase of blacks voting GOP in 2020. Trump will get 20% of the black vote this year and will win big.

If Trump doesn't win, the importation and legalization of millions of alien Democrat voters will make national office forever out of reach for the Republicans and they will become a Potemkin Village token opposition so it still looks like elections matter. Short of apocalyptic civilizational collapse or armed revolution, the Rats will have a lock on the country for generations.
