WASHINGTON — Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson warned Sunday that Americans should be “particularly careful” shopping at malls this weekend following a specific terrorist threat.
Terrorist group al-Shabaab released a video calling for attacks on shopping malls in the US, Canada and the United Kingdom, which included mention and images of the Mall of America in Minnesota.
“I would say that if anyone is planning to go to the Mall of America today, they’ve got to be particularly careful,” Johnson said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
The al Qaeda-linked group was responsible for the deadly Nairobi, Kenya, mall attack in 2013. The Mall of America has responded by beefing up security.
Johnson said federal authorities are taking the threat “seriously” and asked Americans to be more “vigilant.” If they see something suspicious, Johnson said, they should say something.
The threat, much like the social media calls from ISIS, represents “the new phase” in the war on terror in which foreign terrorists call for domestic sympathizers to carry out attacks in their homelands. “We’re beyond the phase now where these groups would send foreign operatives into countries after being trained someplace,” Johnson said.

A short time after 9/11, I wrote about how easy it would be for individuals to do incredible economic damage and cause loss of lives.
Twenty individual bombs in cases could be left in 20 malls across the country. Not just the big cities, but some small ones to strike fear everywhere. Twenty bombs exploding at the same time would have caused havoc across the country. With the number in the country now, this could be done. And they don’t even have to commit suicide to do it. Just leave the bomb and detonate when a safe distance away.
Translation: “Obama and I made this happen. Embrace the Suck, America.”
I believe that is essentially what goes on in Iraq and Afghanistan. Every murderous idiot makes IED's with cell phone remotes. Yes it can happen here, but our security is much better and so not so easy for the terrorist slime to make happen.

How does one “be careful” in a mall, especially one that bans guns? I needed a fix for an issue with my phone the other day. I’m in a new area and the only decently rated repair was in the mall. Once I walked in there it was apparent that I was a one of many fish in a barrel. Business was concluded quickly.
Mall of America is FILLED FILLED FILLED with Somali’s. Actually, it’s kinda surprising there hasn’t been an attack there yet.
The media is telling us so.
I mean doesn't every guy with a crush on a girl go and shoot her, her mother and three people who just happened to be shopping?

Yep. And people interested in causing harm could also blow up a few gas stations. They even have the followers of the prophet in place. Just an observation.

I remember that and it stayed with me. If you really just want cheaply produced “terror,” over a few weeks just bomb 20 malls or shopping centers. Different stores, different medium sized or large towns. It doesn’t have to be simultaneous, because the next day people may feel safe. Skip days, do some the same day, skip a week even. Keep people guessing. The “random factor” creates more terror. It stops people from living their lives.
Organization may be getting harder for terrorists to pull off, as lately all attacks have been lone wolves.
We need to fight it by being anti-Sharia. We need some new sedition laws or dust off old ones. Believing in and preaching about or living by sharia law should get you deported or jailed for many years. Forget Islam as a belief; the thing we CAN fight is sharia laws. They are against our Constitution and way of life and we have every right to put a total stop to them.
Let’s have a Open or Concealed Carry Free Terrorist Shoot’em Up Contest. No shooting till you hear the Allah Snackbar. Targets must be accurately identified before commencing with shooting. Additional 5 points for each additional terrorist. No bag limit. The more the merrier. Carry bacon with you.
