“Trump was in TROUBLE most of the night; sadly. Hopefully he can pull a REAGAN at the next one. “
If that is what you think then you missed the entire point of his presence. It wasn’t to go punching bag on Hitlery as you demand and make a mockery of himself as a “reality TV” clown, but to give the people a view of a Presidential candidate, and he did that very well.
He did half heartedly mention that she really thinks global warming is the biggest threat to mankind, not nuclear proliferation. He could have mopped the floor with her on that one.
He had many opportunities to hammer her, but was distracted by the help she was getting from Holt.
All that being said, he did drive home one point very well. She’s been in DC for almost 30 years and has not done shit.
You’re exactly right. Most of the anti-Trump low-info types buy the media spin that he’s this boorish, sexist misanthrope. If he’d have come on too strong tonight and wailed on Hillary, as it appears most here wanted him to do, he would have reinforced that stereotype. I think he did well avoiding that trap.
He made face, he was mostly on the defensive, and he missed a whole bunch of opportunities to really nail her.
