Several injured in Houston shooting, scene 'contained' – police

A shooting in Houston, Texas, has resulted in several people sustaining injuries, police have said. The scene is now contained, but residents have been asked to avoid the area.

The Houston Police Department has confirmed "an active shooter situation in a shopping center near the corner of Weslayan and Bissonnet in southwest Houston."

Police also tweeted that the active shooter was shot by law enforcers. There are no reports of other suspects at this time....

The shooting is believed to have started at about 6:20 am local time. A witness told local ABC13 channel he heard about 100 “steady gunshots” being fired.

There is a “Shelter in Place” message from the Houston OEM until further notice. There is “talk” (not confirmed) of a second shooter (which I doubt).

It is about Petco. Maybe the dude was just outside Petco and this was a gangbanger incident.

Can’t wait to hear the details on why Petco got shot up.

Well ..an “experienced” groomer at Petco really hurt my dog. So maybe Shooter got mad about the grooming of his dog and came back to shoot it up.

It probably relates to some incident that just happened outside of Petco with gangbangers.

Well, interestingly, Randall, I believe I heard that there was a Randall's supermarket in the center. Randall's stores are often open 24 hrs.
