Navy Sailor Refuses to Stand During National Anthem
Fox News ^ | September 26, 2016

U.S. Navy sailor is under investigation for refusing to stand during the national anthem.

Intelligence Specialist 2nd Class Janaye Ervin, a reservist stationed at Pearl Harbor, posted on Facebook about why she's following in the footsteps of Colin Kaepernick and others who have demonstrated against police brutality during the anthem.

"I feel like a hypocrite singing about the 'land of the free' when I know that only applies to some Americans," she wrote. "I will gladly stand again, when ALL AMERICANS are afforded the same freedom."

Ervin says she lost her security clearance and was threatened with jail by the Navy in response to her actions.

“I will gladly stand again, when ALL AMERICANS are afforded the same freedom.”
************************************

When exactly would that be?

If you hate the anthem and the country you have no business being in the military.

“We are giving these folks too much attention.”

I would give them much more attention.

The first attention would be a military trial. The second would be a military prison.

Why did these people join the service if they feel that way?

I believe the remainder of her time in the Navy should be served in the brig, standing at attention for 18 hours each day, reciting the US Pledge of Allegiance. After completion of her ‘tour’, dishonorable discharge.

Don’t know how things work in the US military, but in Canada apparently, during time spent in disciplinary barracks in Edmonton, part of their sentence is to polish a black lacquered stainless steel spoon until it is glistening stainless. This is then repeated over and over again. Simple and inexpensive.

She has another career path option:

Brig
Court-martial
Dishonorable discharge
Crack ho

Time to brush the dust off the age old ‘Undesirable Discharge’ status and start applying it to these idiots.

Nice.

I'd sentence this one to polishing a turd.

I was only a matter of time. At this rate a EO will be signed so military does not have to salute the flag.

dishonorable discharge would be in order...

she swore an oath to defend America and uphold the Constitution.....

now she is acting against that oath by rejecting the symbol of America..

If she doesn’t like America why did she join the military ???

Why doesn’t she just get out ???

What happens when the moslems attack the ship ???

Does she just stand there allowing her ship mates to be slaughtered or would she help fight the enemy off...

I wouldn’t trust this traitor in a foxhole ...

Well, she’s right that “land of the free” only applies to SOME Americans. It does not apply to those who sign up for military duty. You are NOT free to quit, make derisive comments about the commander in chief, or openly rake exception over all sorts of dumb things your commanding officer might say. You are also not free to threaten the cohesion of the force out of your immaturity. No scholarship for you!

She has a point. I don’t feel free to be myself. If I supported Trump openly, I would become a victim of hate and violence.

Why is this matter even being discussed?

In the real world, this would be an automatic Court Martial.

In my Army days those working the intel agencies were vetted to the point where this would likely never happen. I recall a form that listed all the un-American organizations, and this list was looooooooooooong. One simply could not be associated with any of them. Not to mention being a druggy, homo or have any record at all.

If something like this did happen, action would be quick and the media would never know.

I recall a guy that got caught smoking pot, he was immediately assigned to a DA infantry unit in ‘Nam.
