I don't think Holt will try it, because he knows Trump won't roll over like Romney.
But, my suggestion for Trump... if Holt does try to do more than moderate, he should simply state:
“Mr. Holt, if you would like to resign as moderator and join us here on stage as a Presidential candidate, I’ll wait while they bring up a podium for you.”
