Correct on everything.
I think in this case the sheriff was appointed by the Governor and of course was a boot-licking stooge that allowed his county and whole situation to be taken over by the unaccountable Feds. Correct me if I’m wrong, but some of the other sheriff’s in the surrounding area are ‘constitutional sheriffs’ and were trying to diffuse the situation. And, let’s not forget about the video of him being shot(drone footage) and then the video from inside the car(which they weren’t expecting). And the testimony of the state police officer, identifying shell casing belonging to the state police and those belonging to the FBI and stating on record that he saw an agent pick up a casing and put it in his pocket.
Nothing to see here...move along....these aren’t the droids you’re looking for.
During the protest in Oregon this year the sheriff in the neighboring county, Glenn Palmer, suggested talking to Ammon Bundy and the protestors.
He met with them and said publicly the Hammonds should be released from federal prison as part of a deal.
Palmer has been under constant attack from the media since and the state government is also investigating him.
A political campaign has been launched to support an opponent in the election this November.
Grant County has fewer federal employees living in it than Harney County, fewer government employees in general meaning fewer pro-land control voters in elections.
This will give Palmer a better chance of winning.
