Which has got to be driving Hillary nuts this morning. She and Lester clearly abused Trump pretty well but the numbers did not budge. It is like she never laid a glove on him. She did not even scratch him. It really has to be making her crazy which maybe is a good thing.

Now she is really in a pickle. If she tries to win” the next debate as per the usual Hillary she will look even more like nurse Wratched. But she can’t lay back and become a Fountain of Wonk, either. That might win an election for librarian.

If his strategy is to bring her voters over he needs to act like it. The same for her. The question is which will ultimately be better at this in the next two. I do not think Hillary is capable of behaving in a way that will change minds, is he? He has to check his ego at the door. IT AIN’T ABOUT HIM. The fact that 60% say he “won” proves it. He needs to turn every answer into three things. $20 Trillion, failed Rat cities, immigration. Let the moderators whine. Ignore them. Let her slander. Stick to three reasons why he needs to HELP US MAGA. Please, please, please drop the ego.

I had hoped that Trump would do a little better.
I had hoped that Hillary would do a little worse.

I think Trump won, but it was close enough to be a toss-up (which, I think, registers as a Trump win).

Something that I liked is that Trump clearly reached out to the Rust Belt and Michigan and Pennsylvania and Ohio. He said what he needed to say to make an impact there. Similarly, he reached out to blacks who live in crime-ridden areas. I think he comes across as sincerely trying to help. Hillary is just the same old-same old.

I think Trump made some small but important gains.
