Mika Despondent Over Debate: Hillary ‘Amazing’ But Trump Will Win More Voters
Legal Insurrection ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 09/27/2016 6:05:03 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

The screencap says it all . . . on today’s Morning Joe, reacting to last night’s presidential debate, Mika Brzezinski was nothing short of despondent.

Brzezinski repeatedly argued that although Hillary was “amazing,” did “great,” etc., it is Donald Trump who walked away the winner politically because he was able to “connect” with the concerns of broad swaths of the electorate. Readers are encouraged to view the video to understand the depths of Mika’s despair.

Arms folded, head bowed, looking like she’s going to cry. Yup. That’s as good a barometer as any to how Hillary did.

I think he did great in the debate. He exceeded my expectations somewhat. He missed some jabs for sure but Hillary’s punches were weak and ineffectual. IMHO. When she was discussing racism, he should have reminded everyone about her mentor, senator Byrd for example. Senator Byrd, the Klansman. He could have hit her harder on her solar panels plan too but he did land a decent counter punch off of that.

The Clintons never do anything straight. She was wired for something.

“...He did amazingly well...” “...waving the red cape...”

I absolutely agree with your analysis. That red dress made Hillary look like a mixture of a tacky New Year’s Eve party goer and a black panther party sympathizer (their power fist logo features a red background and communism also is associated with red). She tried to outdo Trump who’s signature hat and tie are red, and she failed!

Lots of Monday morning QBing going on here.

Trump is Trump. He’s not going to change and if he did, it would be phony. He’s not going to become a master debater in the course of a few months. As long as he doesn’t get too defensive and make a major gaffe, he’s fine. He’s a good businessman and communicator, but he is not a phony BSer like Clinton is. That’s to his credit.

After the debate, Trump admitted that he was holding back on some issues - maybe he’s saving them for later - who knows? They have a plan and so far, it’s working well.

If you’re on the cusp of winning, you want to remain positive. Your most loyal constituency is the people who are voting FOR you, not just against your opponent. If it’s close toward the end of the race, then you use your full arsenal - positive and negative. We’re not there yet.

It’s telling that even at this point, Clinton is going all out negative on Trump.

Hillary was haughty and full of rehearsed mumbo-jumbo.

Trump missed some opportunities, but I don’t blame him under the circumstances.

He was right about showing more restraint than her.

Just for instance, when she was accusing him of loving to be around beauty pageants (???), he could have lobbed a bubba’s bimbos zinger her way, but he chose not to do so.

Last night, at the end of the debate Trump patted her on the back. If that wire were there he knows about it.

Yea, amazingly smug and dishonest

Hillary had a smile/smirk the entire time that was off-putting. It reminded me a bit of Biden's debate with Ryan, but she was less animated. For some reason, I think it put off more voters this time around, whereas Biden was perceived to have won his debate.

I enjoy watching her for a couple minutes to start the day.

It’s all about perspective. The rest of the day is usually better.

The MSM thinks these bullets have never been fired at him before.

A lot of Trump supporters are criticizing him for not swinging at some hanging curve balls Hillary threw. I don't know if that was intentional, but it will work to his benefit. Hillary has now emptied her gun. Trump, on the other hand, still has many rounds left in his magazine that he can use in later debates. It will be the later debates that people remember at election time.

Something is there on her back. Where did this photo come from? This is as big as the earpiece or one in the same.

I listened to an interesting argument this morning that got me thinking. The commentator said that even though there was a lot of ‘visibility’ into the debate and lots of people tuned in, most people will only watch about 20-30 minutes of a debate at most before tuning out. He said most people tuned in for the first 20 minutes of the debate before leaving and it was during that period that Trump was at his best, talking about the economy and trade and really keeping Clinton reeling. By the time Holt and Clinton were tag teaming him about his tax returns most people had tuned out. This would seem to jive with Mika’s assessment of how Trump is connecting better with people.
