Keep in mind that the greatest wheat producing area—probably on earth—is Ukraine. Putin’s Russia, unlike the Soviet—does not have Ukrainian produce in the totals—nor those of other now independent nations.

Cold War joke: in case of thermonuclear war, move to Kansas because the Soviets won’t ever bomb the wheat.

I know I’d never nuke wheat - or oil!

Our local wheat price started at about $3.60 per bushel, 2 weeks later it was at $2.75 per bushel.

Need I explain that you cannot grow wheat for $2.75 per bushel and make a profit?

Yes, they had a record crop in Kansas.

It was very mixed as to yield here.

all the best: Yes, and it’s a lesson that President Putin (like him or not) understands
Ohioan: Yes, and this was the goal of bringing Ukraine into the Western sphere - the Ukrainian peoples got Soros’ orange revolution and governmental largesse (indebtedness to the western banking institutions) and common core education; and in exchange the multi-nationals got control of Ukraine’s natural resources. (Except of course in Donbass and Lugansk).

Da, comrade. Why wouldn’t the people of Ukraine choose kind and benevolent Russia over the evil and decadent West?
