HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Monday night’s debate here was a tremendous victory for Donald Trump, but his performance left plenty of room for improvement. Big picture: Polls show support for Hillary Clinton is collapsing, and she desperately needed to stanch the bleeding. She did nothing during the debate to change the trajectory of those increasingly bleak polls.

I was SO concerned about her not making it to the finish line. AND not getting indicted. Neither happened and we are going to win!!!

dem strategy meeting circa 2013: “Who can we put up that will be one of the most divisive and most hated people out of the 7 billion on the planet?”

“I’ve got it!!”

This writer is correct.
Trump has room to grow with his counter points and pivots.

Clinton, on the other hand maxed out.
Threw everything including the kitchen sink.
And Trump still held his own.

He left a lot on the table last night. You wouldn’t know it by the 10,000 people awaiting him in Melbourne, FL. this evening though. Electoral College is looking better and better.

We are witnessing the first true ascendency of a “citizen” (non-politician) presidential candidate in the modern era.

Never thought I would see something like this in my lifetime. Truly amazing.

Came along at just the right time.

Trump’s main message was siimple. “You have been in government for 30 years or more and all you’ve done is TALK. You have done nothing towards any of the things you’ve brought up here tonight!” He could have “amplified” his comment by paraphrasing what Carly Fiorina said about “travel” being an “activity” not an “accomplishment.” Just because HItlary has flown all over the world on our dime, doesn’t mean she’s accomplished anything except the pi$$ing away our tax dollars.

I was not impressed with Trump at all last night but the guy is a quick study and I’ll bet he crushes her in the next debate

I’d still suggest that in Debate #2 Trump might..

1. Mention the 4 who fought at Benghazi for 13 hours, begging for help, then finally dying. Even a full day later the C-130 that picked up the terrified survivors WAS NOT AMERICAN..!

2. The poor, shivering Haitians, whose money from all over the world was stolen by the Clintons

“Trump’s main message was siimple. “You have been in government for 30 years or more and all you’ve done is TALK.”

You obviously picked up on what I thought was the defining moment of the debate. Remember when Reagan nailed Mondale on the age question in 1984 by saying he would not hold Mondale’s lack of experience against him? Folks forget that until that quotation Dutch did not have a very good debate. Trump matched that quotation last night and still performed well with the remaining issues.

And let’s not forget- Illary’s snarkiness and condescension was a crushing blow to her already pathetic likability.

I agree! I was praying he would jump in and say, “Which one of those trips was it that you came under sniper fire?”

And when she attacked him about his treatment of women, it would have been the PERFECT opportunity to have her explain why she gladly solicited and collected tens of millions of dollars for the Clinton Foundation slush fund from Saudi Arabia that treats women like garbage. They can’t drive, go anywhere without a male escort, etc. Then he could have added: By the way, the Clinton Foundation only gives 5% to their charities. What a scam!
