Ninety-Five Percent of GOP Primary Donors Turn Back on Donald Trump in General Election
Breitbart ^ | 30 Sep 2016 | Katie McHugh

The major donors who supported the GOP establishment’s favored candidates during the primaries are now standing on the sidelines or have switched sides to support Hillary Clinton, says a survey by the Los Angeles Times. Ninety-five percent of GOP primary donors are “sitting out” the general election, the newspaper found. Also, donors who backed Trump’s 16 primary rivals have already given $2 million to Clinton, while sending only $7.4 million from to Trump.

Overall, FEC records through August 31 show Clinton brought in $530 million while Trump lagged with $186 million in donations.

What Trump has accomplished is truly amazing. The Republican big money contributors are supporting Clinton.

And despite that Trump is still winning.

Trump didn't even really start asking for donations until after he won the nomination, so the author if honest would be comparing donations made since July. I still read that the fat cat donors he is trying to isolate in this story have still given trump 3 times as much as Hillary. How many opponents did Hillary have seeking donations before July? Trump had up to 16.

BTW how has Hillary spent the money and what has it gained her? Jeb bush blew through 150 million for what?

Methinks there will be some score-settling if Trump becomes President.

Interesting.

CNN says the opposite:

Trump finally hits the big-money jackpot

Donald Trump, at long last, has won them over.
Amid the campaign’s final frenzy, there are encouraging signs that Trump’s slow-to-build money operation has matured to presidential caliber

The ones supporting Hillary should be ashamed of themselves.

2 million is way more than 7.5 million. Snort.

Big money folks love cheap labor and ‘free trade’... it lines their pockets - - at the expense of most Americans. Of course they back Hillary.

I sure as heck hope so. We have been doing a BOHICA for so long, I thought it was our normal position. The times, they are a changing, or at least I hope so.

Just indicative of what the Republican party has become...it is a travesty. They’re the establishment, big government bureaucracy, oligarchy loving elitists.

Makes me want to vomit.

Trump is certainly flawed. But he is definitely a hard working, unapologetic, smart businessman. And I’ll take such a man over the leaches of both parties who drain the lifeblood out of the middle class and give monies earned by that middle class to both ends of the economic spectrum.

Welfare for poor, cronyism for the rich: both are wrong and are created by destroying the wealth of the middle class.

Both establishment parties do it—and it is time for it to end.

I am not talking about abusing the poor or crushing the rich; that would be wrong, too. But creating competition and a competitive FREE and FAIR market would make things better for everyone. The poor would find jobs and the rich would become richer as they innovated and worked on new products and services.

I will gladly vote Trump. GOP-e can shove it.

I hate the GOP-e. We all do. We need a new party. A party for Conservatives. I am angered by the fact nobody has started a Conservative Party yet. I honestly think it would eventually replace the GOP if someone would just start the darn thing.
