Of course they, collectively were the invading hoards of the first millennium B.C. In South Africa the original inhabitants were pushed into the most arid areas where the San yet live. Columbus was one of the last to discover America. Five hundred years before Columbus (1492) were the discovery by Vikings (led by Leif Eriksson) and before the Vikings, the Chinese.

Canada was discovered in 1534 and Mexico 1511. The Pilgrims landed in 1620.
