After Reagan rubbed Gaddafi’s nose in his own mess, Gaddafi became a good dog and let us fly over his airspace, kept the Brotherhood and al-Qaeda in check, etc. He was as close to an ally as you could expect from a Muslim dictator, because of his fear of our military. I didn’t know he supported Obama, but you should know by now that Obama has no sense of loyalty and has no use for an ally of the United States. If destabilizing the region requires murdering a supporter, so be it.
Actually I think that Gaddafi was very unhappy with the CIA arming the so-called “good” rebels, using his country as a staging place for the weapon swaps and was about to put an end to it. The Obama administration saw him as an “obstacle” to “peace.”
