The Threat is Real and Imminent: “Two North Korean Satellites Orbiting Over U.S. May Be <TR)
SHTF Plan ^ | October 2. 2016 | Jeremiah Johnson

Author’s Note: There’s a lot of information to cover here in one article. There are tremendous amounts of cross-references and sources. Some of these items you are undoubtedly familiar with; the report’s objective is to compile important details, dates, statements, and actions to present an overall view. This is to provide you with a “compendium” of actions taken and information gathered to refer to this real and imminent threat of a North Korean (or other nation’s) capabilities to strike the U.S. with an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) weapon.

For many years, now, the U.S. has been initiating actions with nations through its aggressive policies and military buildups and creating a “Second Cold War.” This is not the topic of this article. The U.S. military is spread thin: the number of forces on active duty have been reduced significantly, and our defenses are showing deeply-disturbing signs of wear, neglect, and loss of readiness. This too is a topic of discussion for another article, but some pertinent facts on U.S. reductions will be mentioned later in the article.

I wish to present the caveat that I have been mentioning in other articles:

The next world war will be initiated by an EMP weapon detonated over the continental United States, followed by a limited nuclear exchange and conventional warfare.

North Korea is going to be either the key player or the key “puppet” used by one of the other nations, and one of those nations may very well be the United States, a false flag operation surreptitiously commenced by the Obama administration. Obama may either provoke North Korea into starting it, or carry it out with an American missile and blame it on them. North Korea does have the ability to strike the U.S. with an EMP weapon.

“If an EMP were to happen or some other catastrophic event, we will need men and women who are capable of doing dirty work such as exterminating our enemies. I only pray that enough will answer that call.”

If an EMP knocked out enough of our grid BLM would go nuts and loot EVERYBODY on the first day. And eventually the Muslims and Mr. “Tree of Liberty” up here get going, things could get pretty frisky and all the SJWs in the fed would have trouble keeping anything that looks like what we have now.

It would be ironic if we built our house on such shaky ground that a bunch of little starving commies that we beat into the stone age back in the 50’s managed to knock it over.

Which enemies? The internal ones or the external ones?

I seem to recall a movie called "The Mouse That Roared" or something like that. Tiny little country attacks us, thinking that in defeat we would rebuild their country like we did for Japan and West Germany. But they win by default when the U.S. capitulates, causing consternation. I wouldn't put it past Obama to surrender to the Norks.

“I’m pretty sure an EMP attack on the US would trigger full nuclear retaliation just as if they hit us with a traditional nuke, so it seems like a very foolish strategy.”

It would be more difficult to figure out who launched the EMP. Even if we knew, an EMP attack carried out the right way would kill about 90% of Americans within a year - due to starvation, disease and fighting amongst ourselves regarding supplies of food, etc. Someone wanting to destroy us would launch the attack, pin it on someone else, then sit back and watch.

Survivalist wishful thinking. There would be a bit of chaos for a few weeks and then things would start going back to normal, because while the survivalists are hiding in their bunkers, other people would be out fixing the infrastructure to get society running again.

We held elections during the Civil War with no electronic infrastructure. We held elections during WWI with limited infrastructure. It took longer to get the results, but they were obtained and the elections were accepted.

The thing now, is so many people are so soft and so dependent upon electricity. Focus would be on heat, water, sewage, food distribution and medical facilities, not an election. Few would care who was POTUS if they were freezing and starving in the dark without medical facilities. We have a couple of generations who would melt down without instantaneous communication.

OTOH, we had Brit and German forces helping out over NYC after 9/11. I can’t believe the Anglosphere and what passes for the remnant of the free world wouldn’t come to the aid of the USA, even w/o invoking NATO.

We also have a strong prepper population and there are still pockets of old-fashioned can-do attitude. I read “One Second After” and I think today it might be a bit better than folks thought when it was written. My area just experienced unusually heavy rain in a short period. It wasn’t enough to trigger FEMA, which happened about 7-8 years ago from severe flooding, but people were quietly out checking on neighbors and helping where they could. Same thing happens when someone has a catastrophic fire. In an EMP, we’d see a lot of tractors on the roads. They’re slow and eat diesel, but combined with horses and old vehicles (both in good supply around here)people would organize in relays and get stuff and casualties moved.

There would be tragedies and some would seek advantage, but others would stand together in the breach. Over all, I think we’d survive. Americans as a whole don’t wait to be told how to respond, we just do it.

I won’t tempt fate and say “bring it”, but I don’t think it would be the end of America.

You couldn’t be sure to contain the effects to just the US! Mexico, Canada, and Central America could well also be affected including the Panama Canal. Also the effects are not going to be uniform but spotty...worse in some areas and not much in other areas.

To get a broader effect you’d have to explode multiple devices due to the curvature of the Earth...then again by doing so you might just take out the electronics of nations you didn’t intend....and those surviving nations would see the offending nation as such a threat they may unite to annihilate the offending nation just to keep such an event from happening to them!

Also as the magnetosphere and related magnetic fields are thinned out over the day side and pushed around so that they are thickest on the night side due to solar wind particles...the emp’s would have to be exploded at night at just the right time place and distance to get the maximum desired effects from the magnetic fields. Localized thunderstorms occurring may actually provide some shielding in some areas due to their own strong localized electrical/magnetic activities. Local TV and Radio Towers might provide some protection for surrounding communities due to grounding...Metal content in surrounding mountain ranges and Geological formations may hinder effects.... Cities due to multiple high rise buildings may experience sporadic damage to their electronics...some cars and other transport systems may experience no damage...electrical grid damage may be wide spread but may local systems may stay intact...

I don’t see that our nation would be totally wiped out but we will be stung enough to become seriously pissed off!

In short the EMP’s might be very bad but not total nation killers as we fear...I’d fear a CME from the sun having been launched directly at us quite a bit more! Also the nations that try this have to realize that they may take out other nations’ electronics that they didn’t intend on doing, nations that may very well rise up to destroy the offending nation out of a sense of self preservation!

In other news today: "40 Million Russians To Take Part In "Nuclear Disaster" Drill, Days After US General Warns Of War With Moscow"

Strangely sparse mention of this story. Drudge has it up.

I started a thread from the Interfax.ru news report

It is much to do about nothing. The Norks will never be a threat to the US.

I’m pretty sure an EMP attack on the US would trigger full nuclear retaliation...

But, against whom? We won't likely be able to say with certainty who did it, and we can't just take out all nuclear powers to be sure we get the right one.
