Plus, if I paid for it, what difference does it make?

Personally, if I found a restaurant that served half of what most do and charged me less for it, I'd eat out more often. I know the economics and a restaurant that did that would probably lose money. But I'd rather get a smaller portion for less money than lug home whatever is leftover.

I like to get the 6 count kid’s meal grilled nuggets at CFA when doing fast food. I get a fruit cup on the side. Sometimes I don’t want super huge.

Ask for smaller portions. Restaurants are most obliging unless you are eating at chains which follow a set menu that cannot be changed for purchasing reasons (I’m not a culinary student for nothing!). And if that doesn’t work, DOGGY BAG IT! Are you so tired and weak you can’t drag home a too large potato and perfectly grilled portion of steak?

Be a man; act like a man!

Yes, me too. There are some that do, but with limited selections. Our super-sized portions are pretty stupid, actually. And people with those 'bubba mugs'...really??

The food itself is too cheap to have a significant effect on the price. Most of the price is for the restaurant building itself, the staff, the food prep, and other non-food expenses.

We live in a time that has never existed before in all of human history; cheap food, cheap to the point most Americans can say it’s nearly free.

I have the wait staff cut the meal in half before I begin, and place the doggie bag in my purse and then eat the rest of the meal.

Then I have lunch.
