The overall theme of the election from the mainstream media vis-a-vis Trump is that he’s a loose cannon, hot-headed, ‘literally Hitler’, etc.
Pence is coming off a lot more likable than Tim Kaine, and a lot more measured.
In normal elections, the VP is usually the attack dog.
Trump is already a pit bull in a lot of ways, so Pence’s measured demeanor is the perfect contrast for a lot of people.
Now as for Kaine? Both in sound, behavior, and visuals...he’s coming off as unhinged and smarmy.
Or, given as Trump retweeted: he looks like a Batman villain.
I think this will be a lot more positive for Trump/Pence than Clinton/Kaine in the end.
I agree. This thing is painful to watch, but I suspect it will work out well for Trump. Pence could push back more against the lies, but overall Pence is doing what he should be doing. He’s the adult in the room.

I agree. Pence is the ying to Trump’s yang, so to speak. While we are all familiar with Clinton’s list of treasonable acts, and want to hear Pence shot them out, there is this;
we’re already informed, he’s not going to change our vote.
As other Freepers have pointed out, Pence is projecting (his true) image of a level-headed, intelligent leader for those DWTS LIV’s who don’t really understand what either VP candidate is saying.
Conversly, Kaine is coming off like a raving loon.
