Pence looking more Presidential and Kaine looking like a politician. People have to be getting sick of the constant attacks.

And honestly, that is the ultimate goal of a vice presidential debate - can you trust that person to take over the White House if things go wrong. Secondarily, do no damage to the campaign. Pence has done both; Kaine's only chopping up red meat for his side, I don't think he's done anything to shore up the campaign, and certainly done nothing to embrace those who might be doubtful of Trump.
