While that is true, the costs for medical care and insurance premiums have risen to absurd levels. Insurance premiums have gone through the roof and you have to include higher deductibles as a rate increase. Whereas before zerocare a deductible might be $500 to $1250 they routinely start at $5,000 and the premiums are some absurd $1500 a month for many families. You do not earn reasonable $50,000 and expect to pay 1/3 of take home for insurance. More, if you make less because the insurance cost doesn’t change.
There is NO incentive for hospitals to lower costs and they have not. They have seen there is a river of money flowing and they just grabbed bigger buckets.
