Didn’t Cali petition to include illegals in the plan?

It’s amazing how they can call a defeat a victory.

With articles like this I usually read the comments more than the op-ed itself. I am gratified to see all the Slimes commenters taking the author to the woodshed for such blatant - and inaccurate propaganda.

But the doctors continue to retire as the government uses tax dollars to pay our medical bills. Best of luck finding a doctor with time to make a difficult differential diagnosis. People are going to start dying en masse before 70, just like in Britain. Accurate diagnosis, the art and science of the doctor, will not be made or it will come when it’s too late. The best medical system in the world brought down in two generations (post-Medicare in the late 60’s).

Think VA for all.

Bill Clinton slams ObamaCare as ‘craziest thing in the world’

By Daniel Halper and Marisa Schultz

October 4, 2016

Bill Clinton has blasted President Obama’s signature piece of legislation — ObamaCare — as “the craziest thing in the world.”

You’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden, 25 million more people have health care, and then the people who are out there busting it, sometimes 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half and it’s the craziest thing in the world,” the former president railed at a rally in Michigan on Monday.

Clinton also said the system is hurting moderately successful small businesses — ones that aren’t doing poorly enough to be subsidized and fall just above the line.

“On the other hand, the current system works fine if you’re eligible for Medicaid, if you’re a lower-income working person, if you’re already on Medicare or if you get enough subsidies on a modest income that you can afford your health care,” Clinton said.

“But the people getting killed in this deal are the small-business people and individuals who make just a little bit too much to get any of these subsidies,” he added. ...”

That’s not what I’m hearing.
Premiums are going up even for people getting subsidies.
Many of them will drop out this next year because even with a subsidy, they cannot afford the cost of the premium and the deductible and co-pays.

Many could possibly afford the premium OR the deductible, but not both. So there is no point in paying the premium if you can’t afford to get care anyway due to the deductible.

Add in the difficulty actually getting a doctor to see you, it’s not worth it, even with a subsidy. It is cheaper to pay cash for routine medical care and take your chances on the big stuff (which you could not afford anyway due to the high deductible).

The thing is going down. Even if they subsidize people 100%, if you cannot get in to see a doctor, what good is it?

When the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, I bet many at the Los Angeles Times were severely disappointed when people went in one direction, as opposed to the other.

A friend of mine was just quoted $2500 per month under Covered California. He’s an engineering job shopper, so he isn’t on any employer plan.

That is more then his mortgage, and would basically eat his entire income.

Obamacare are is designed to bankrupt all of us.

Why should they be Stuck in these expensive and inferior health plans paid for by the taxpayers??

Don’t our PUBLIC EMPLOYEES deserve the Finest Health Insurance the Government has to offer??

Complicit in treason.

Typically Americans just by-pass things like this and come up with a parallel system or a work around.

If they are blocked from doing even this, then they will revolt.

I really hate these apologia for Obamacare. It is malfunctioning in all the ways that sober analysis predicted it would malfunction. All the carrots were made bigger and sweeter, all the sticks were burned and never used.

If you are going to insure everyone, then everyone has to buy insurance, one way or another. You can’t tell millions of people they will be covered if they get sick even if they have no insurance. They will stop paying for insurance.

The Dems original claim was that the people without coverage were going to the emergency rooms for care and that’s why health care costs were so high (I WISH we could go back to the era before Obamacare, where medical care costs were soooo much lower than now). They claimed that giving ‘coverage’ to those who were using the emergency rooms (where no one can be turned away) would solve the cost problems. Lying through their teeth as usual. Now, working people who had already been paying for their coverage are paying exponentially more, to cover all those who aren’t working. There was not a case where people weren’t getting care......but the Dems rely on ‘the stupidity of the American voter’ to manipulate the support for most of their wealth redistribution schemes. And the insurance companies were cheerleaders for Obamacare as they were told they would be making boatloads more money when people were REQUIRED to have health insurance.

ObamaCare Bronze Plan with Anthem Blue Cross.
Just got a letter telling us Premiums were going up about 31%.
So.....Rrriggghhhttt...sure.
BTW, Bronze started with 5k annual deductable...next to 6k and last yr to 6.5k....meaning 1st $6,500 comes out of your wallet before ObamaCare pays anything....”

Remember when the Feds went on a vendetta against high deductible policies? I had one I liked (because the premiums were reasonable and my young family was healthy and I had saved a separate rainy day amount), but noooo! The Feds claimed it was unfair to me and my family.

Gee, now you have a worse policy with higher deductibles and higher premiums. The so-called AFFORDABLE Care Act isn’t affordable and doesn’t help with care. Sorry for your loss (and ours). All the best to you few guys with good sense left soldiering on back in California. I reverse migrated to Okieland a few years ago. The only thing I miss are the views.

It works because voters only need bold statements, not the raw data.
