I’m not relying on any single weather station. Perhaps the ones you are looking at recorded micro tornadoes, or wind streaks. (I forget the official name.) Hurricanes are supposed to be graded on sustained winds.
Actually, ‘we’ were watching the George Town weather station for a bit before it went offline. It was consistently measuring sutained over 110MPH and gusts of 130mph+.

Lots of discussion about wind transferrence too. Ie, winds aloft making to the surface. etc.
