Reminds me of the hurricane parties when Hurricane Camille hit back in 1969!
It was fun till the buildings were washed away!

"Im thinking the bar has moved its inventory to the second floor and other than staying away from the windows and some darkness, theyll just suffer from a hangover."
I agree with you. That hotel isn't going anywhere. Open another bottle and watch what floats by and turn up the battery operated boom box.
If I was single, it would be another "great adventure." Now that I am married, it would a "great adventure" with a lot of nagging later.

***...bragging about how they aint afraid of no hurricane.***
That’s what some Yankee said when watching the Tulsa Tornado from his porch back in 1975. That is, until the house across the street exploded into matchwood!

You can’t easily avoid a nuclear bomb, you can easily avoid a hurricane.

That’s one of my favorite songs. My father remembered paddling a boat across his father’s and uncles’ fields in a flood year during World War II.

What ?
Hurricane insurance for a typical private residence homes close to beach in Indialantic
run a lot lower unless it’s commercially zoned and huge .
Try more like 3,200 unless the place was massive .

Save them from what...?
Storm surge is at most 11 to 12 feet.
I hope they are smart enough to move to the upper levels of the hotel, if not they are too dumb to live...

Or as Mr. Fields laments...

I remember only 7 people in the hotel.
How many Indians were on the porch I can’t recall.

Im thinking the bar has moved its inventory to the second floor and other than staying away from the windows and some darkness, theyll just suffer from a hangover.Which will happen first: Recovery from the hangover or water recedes to the ocean. I'm betting on the latter.

Yea. I never researched it just going by what I was told.
Pretty sure Dad just figured he didn’t need a “vacation home” 500 miles away. And no it wasn’t a huge home. Built in 1963. But it was a very cool house(to me) and I loved the area.
