I have FaceBook friends who are lamenting the vulgar turn of this election fight. They never acknowledge who took it into the gutter. Did Trump release the vulgar tape? Was it Hillary who first brought up the dirt? Trump was very casual in the first debate, saying he wouldn’t bring up Bill’s peccadillos, out of respect for Chelsea. It was those who seek to destroy Trump, that took this campaign into the gutter.

All the liberals and their allies in the media were euphoric about the Trump tape and exploiting every moment of it. They’re the ones who too the campaign into the gutter.
I’m very much like you, sick of people whose judgment I once trusted with all their ‘I’m above it all’ and ‘what an awful choice’ posts.
They are friends, but I have started to doubt very seriously if they know what, for example, the 10th Amendment is all about, if they have voted for Democrats at any level in the past, if they think public schools are a) a good spend and b) in any way effective, if they understand that good ideas tend to die as soon as a candidate enters office etc.
They don’t seem to understand that there is a huge and critical difference between allowing a neighbor you aren’t on very friendly terms with to watch your house while you’re gone versus giving a key to a neighbor who is already a known criminal and who has already promised to rob your valuables while calling the police to report your handgun stashed under the bed.
Objecting to a personality is one thing. Facilitating illicit and tyrannical behavior is another.
They forced Trump’s hand; he could either write off 50% of the population (female voters) or he could fight back. He chose the latter.
