I just read the story. Apparently, the person who survived said that is was not an accident.
My granddad worked for Pratt as an engineer - dad said he was in quality engineering. Dad grew up in East Hartford and he said in the 70s it was a nice town.
Hmmmm
Curiouser and curiouser
Think I read it took out some power lines?
Courant: The Piper PA-34 Seneca struck a utility pole and wires, knocking out power to the area, and was immediately engulfed in flames, witnesses said.
-PJ
100% correct.
Or armed and prepared to fight to restore the Republic.
Thanks, Biggirl, for this thread!
You are very much is welcome!
I live not far from where this “incident” took place. I was on “edge” yesterday and off and on today. Heard on WRKO AM online that both the instructor and the student pilot were arguing. Plus hearing he is from Jordan I am wondering if this was all planned.
This is what I have feared the last 15 years since 9/11.
Yes. The assumption is the student pilot was heading for the Pratt & Whitney complex. The instructor jumped out of the burning plane after it clipped the overhead power lines. Instructor is hospitalized with burns but is talking to police investigators. Student pilot’s body is still in the wreckage.
The terrorist held pilot’s certifications from other areas. He wasn’t much of a student.
Correct. However, the flight instructor wouldn’t have bothered to go up with the guy if he was certified in that aircraft.
Got it. Certs are not licenses.
Wow.
Did you see the CT news tonight? The student that passed away was enrolled in the American Flight School in East Hartford. On WFSB they interviewed a student that knew him and said he hung around others that are from Jordan and are enrolled in this school.
Yes,the old airfield was Pratt’s private airport. Calbela’s is next to Rentschler Field, where UConn plays football..
In the 70’s it WAS a nice town. Back then I lived in Vernon/Rockville and lots of my friends lived in East Hartford. In fact, the 1st house my son & DIL bought was in East Hartford. Great neighborhoods.
Not too far from Cabela’s.
There’s plenty of flat land, to make a emergency landing, out there.
Hey! Hartford Courant .....Feras M. Freitekh .... why not print his whole name Feras MOHAMMED Freitekh. Feckless rag.
