I think you may be taking the term “dropped the story” in the wrong context. Think of it as “dropped a bombshell” and it makes more sense. I did a double take too, but thought about it a little and it makes sense if you look at it in a different context.

Another thread here on FR implies both women are also Clinton supporters and donors. Is it true? Not sure but I’d believe it, that’s the way the Clintons do things.
