Breitbart ^

Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta’s membership on the executive board of an energy company, Joule Unlimited, which received millions from a Putin-connected Russian government fund, also included “75,000 common shares,” according to an email exchange uncovered by the Wikileaks hacks.

In the newly-uncovered email exchanged under the subject “Podesta Outstanding Docs for Joule,” Eryn Sepp, who was an assistant to Podesta at the Center for American Progress, forwarded a message to Podesta from Mark C. Solakian, who was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Joule Unlimited Technologies, Inc.

Mulling this over earlier, one wonders if the Podesta(s)'s influence was purchased with these shares given the current administration's tepid reaction to Russia's appropriation of Crimea? A quick search online, using the search terms "Podesta" & "Crimea" reveals:
ChicagoTribune: U.S. firm ends lobbying deal with Ukraine-related group April 30, 2014|Mark Hosenball |WASHINGTON

(Reuters) - A Washington lobbying firm with close ties to the White House and Democratic Party has ended its relationship with a Brussels-based group linked to ousted Ukrainian leader Viktor Yanukovich. A second Washington lobbying firm with ties to the Republican Party continues to represent the same Brussels group, according to disclosure documents recently filed with the U.S. Congress by the two firms.

The political movement once led by Yanukovich has been deeply disrupted by protests in Ukraine, where a political crisis has deepened after moves by Russia and its sympathizers to take over Crimea and oppose the new Ukrainian central government.

One of the documents, filed on April 21, shows that the Podesta Group, headed by Tony Podesta, terminated its representation of the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine on March 31. Reuters reported in December that disclosure documents showed that during 2012 and 2013, the European Centre had paid$900,000 to the Podesta Group for lobbying activities.

The biography posted for Tony Podesta on his firm's website describes him as "one of the Democratic Party's top political strategists". He is the brother of John Podesta, a senior advisor to President Barack Obama. Tony Podesta said last year that he had never discussed Ukraine with his brother John. Another document shows that Mercury, a public relations firm, recently reported to Congress it was still representing the European Centre, and had received a fee of $70,000 from the group for its work during the first three months of 2014.

The document shows that the Mercury personnel registered to lobby for the European Centre include Vin Weber, a former member of the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives.

A representative of Mercury did not respond to a request for comment. The European Centre also did not respond to a request to explain why it had changed its lobbying arrangement in Washington.

The group is linked to Ukraine's Party of Regions, which supported the government of Yanukovich, who fled to Russia earlier this year amid civil disorder.

Say what you will about Putin, it appears that he always acts in the best interest of Russia.

Even IF that were true, which I clearly demonstrated it is not, who gives a crap. His goal is to basically bring back the Soviet Union, and then-some with the addition of the oil/gas-rich Middle East. This may be in his best interest, but it certainly isn't in ours or our allies in the region.

Since 2005, the Russians have been staging joint war games with the ChiComs in obvious preparation for war with us and our allies. They continue to this day arming and supporting hostile Marxist dictatorships throughout Latin America. They stand firmly behind such evil regimes as Iran and North Korea.

How Russia arms America's southern neighbors

Ioan Grillo
May 9, 2014

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Russia's push into Ukraine has put many on edge. But less known is that Russia is also strengthening its military links south of the Rio Grande and re-establishing itself as a power in the region.

Vladimir Putin has been strengthening military links here, and Russia is now the largest arms dealer to governments in Latin America, surpassing the United States.

Russia has even floated the possibility of building new military bases in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, and putting its warships permanently in the Caribbean.

In the midst of the Ukraine crisis, Russia's top diplomat Sergei Lavrov recently visited Cuba, Peru, Chile, and Nicaragua, where he announced that Russia would also pour money into the new Central American canal project. ..."

Russia Boosts Arms, Training for Leftist Latin Militaries

Moscow defense minister inks deals with Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua for joint exercises

BY: Bill Gertz
February 20, 2015

Russia agreed to provide military training for three leftist regimes in Latin America and increase military visits and exercises following a visit last week to the region by Moscow's Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, Pentagon officials said.

Shoygu met with defense and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua and signed several agreements on warship visits and military training during the visit, which ran from Feb. 11 to 14. It is not clear whether any new arms deals were completed during the visit.

Defense officials said the Russian leader is seeking bases in the region for strategic bomber flights that Shoygu recently promised would include flights over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

Mike Pence, in the recent (first) VP debate, Oct 5, 2016:

“When Donald Trump and I observe that, as I’ve said, in Syria, in Iran, in Ukraine, that the small and bullying leader of Russia has been stronger on the world stage than this administration, that’s stating painful facts. That’s not an endorsement of Vladimir Putin — that’s an indictment of the weak and feckless leadership of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.”

“Yeah, but Trump is besties with Putin.”

Are you being sarcastic?

The false narratives about Trump and Clinton are lies spread by the Democrats and the MSM.

If you want to read and learn about the subject I would recommend Clinton Cash.

“I don’t think they come any more crooked or slimy than Podesta”

Podesta is a truly despicable piece of garbage.

But the Clintons are far more crooked, slimy and evil than Podesta.

I thought you might have been. But I wasn't sure.

I guess that is the sign of good sarcasm. It sounds sincere.

Thanks for the comment.
