Chancellor Angela Merkel says Germany wants friendly ties with Britain but won’t drop its insistence that London can only enjoy full access to the European Union’s internal market if it allows free immigration of EU citizens. […]

Merkel argues that making concessions on free labor movement would create a dangerous free-for-all in the EU. She said Saturday that, although Britain is dear to Europe and she regrets its decision to leave the bloc, “we cannot work toward ultimately putting into question the whole European Union.” …

free immigration of EU citizens

Now if you applied a Bill Clinton interpretation of that phrase, it could mean that if England accepts actual Germans and actual French and actual Spanish (and so on...) that would be compliance. So Europeans could do a Dunkirk, move to England and stage a new D-Day to take Europe back from spawn of islam and send those people back where they came from. Interesting concept.

Obviously, Merkel wants recent immigrants to the EU included. That’s a deal-breaker. But what I want to know is “who died and made her fuhrer?” Germany carries a lot of weight in the EU, but Berlin is Berlin and Brussels is Brussels.

EU having veto power over British immigration law would mean that Britain never left the EU. I would guess that uncontrolled immigration is why the English voted to leave the EU in the first place.

Looks like Merkel has appointed herself head of the EU.

The globe trotting elite need to realize that ordinary people lack multi-language fluency.

The legal possibility that a Brit can get a job in Germany is not a practical one. German employers normally expect employees to know German very well.

Everyday English doesn’t have the complex rules of everyday German. A German sentence isn’t just spoken, a German sentence is engineered and uttered.

One the other hand, Germans commonly know how to speak basic English. English employers are generally far less demanding with respect to language usage - they know from decades of experience that foreign-born employees can improve their English while on the job.

The result of the language problem is that the “free movement of people” is to an ordinary Brit a one-way tunnel to unemployment and higher housing costs.

Europeans treasure their languages. Therefore, Europe can never be like the English-centric United States, at least in the 21st Century.

Hitler tried to monopolize Europe as a stepping stone to world domination too - how did that work out?

I hear the Brits were instrumental in helping to take Hitler down....

Open borders is moral idiocy.

Every nation should have the right to protect its citizens, its economy, its identity.

Immigration can be great under intelligent circumstances, when properly controlled for the interests of the nation.

But all this naive “open borders” nonsense ala Merkel, John Vichy Kerry, Schwengen agreement, Hillary Clintoon’s “dream” etc. is foolish insanity.

For her to still promote full on Open Borders, is insane.
Stay strong, Britain. You can survive and thrive without importing terror and chaos. Just look next door at Calais or to Greece for how things can get.

Open borders is straight out of the Communist Manifesto’s second chapter.
The Communists are further reproached with desiring to abolish countries and nationality. …
People without identity are easier to control.

What is this women’s motivation?

Muslims are infesting her country with violence and welfare seeking scum bags who will never assimilate, she wants to bring in millions more to other European countries by force and threats.

What the hell is she doing and why? I can’t figure it out.

Since BMW sells more cars in the UK than Germany, Merkel may start hearing from her industrialists, especially since she needs them to make up for the EU money that won't be coming in from the UK...:^)

Your point about German vs English language skills may be right - but nonetheless Germany has the highest rate within the EU of immigration from other EU countries - higher than the UK.
