Both my dad and MrT5 were career military men-and my 1st husband left the AF after 6 years-when he was offered a position he couldn’t afford to turn down with a large company. All 3 were called hard men by those who didn’t really know them-but it is true that they never expressed any sympathy for an enemy or any hesitation for taking one out-none at all-I absorbed that thinking, and I make no apologies-an enemy is an enemy, whether they come on like a berserker or appear to be all tears and hand wringing. I’m unsympathetic to whatever end their karma has earned them-they would do the same to me in a heartbeat, if given one blink of hesitation...
I’ve been told my attitude is unchristian-and maybe by some standards it is-but Jesus didn’t hesitate to bring a fight to those who defiled the temple-I don’t think God expects us to not fight for what we believe, either...
Actually, your attitude is exactly what America needs.
You get it. This is what it takes.
