It did happen because Trump mentioned it at the first debate. The look on her face is a dead give away at that moment.

"TRUMP: Wait. The AFL-CIO the other day, behind the blue screen, I don’t know who you were talking to, Secretary Clinton, but you were totally out of control. I said, there’s a person with a temperament that’s got a problem.

HOLT: Secretary Clinton?

CLINTON: Whew, OK.

You’re right. Probably “disinformation” thrown out there so
denials can come from the Clinton camp; then ANYTHING
coming from Conservatives can be cast as a LIE, no matter
if there’s valid proof.
