Only they call it “manufactured consensus.” I was working in the campaign that year, and in Texas, and that’s when I learned the polls were bull until the last weekend before Election Day. If they say it’s too close to call, that means they’re losing.
In 2012 I was sure Romney would win, regardless of what the polls said. Obama had been a failure, the economy was still in the tank (and STILL IS, by the way), and I was certain the American people would respond the way they always have: “Throw the bum out!”. I was so bummed watching the results come in.
This time around I’m again ignoring the polls, mainly because Trump isn’t Romney. Trump hasn’t rolled over and the media and GOPe hate him for it. If they have to rig some polls they will.
