Yep. This is part of the "close the deal" template. He was saddled with the personality of "Trump the actor" from his time on Apprentice and in the public eye. He had to start there, that is what people knew. But he couldn't stay there and win the election, hence a transformation over the past few months. Not sudden, a little bit each day. It is important that the people see him as genuine, not acting, not scripted.
