Religious freedom is not just for Catholics (HRC on changing religious beliefs)
American Thinker ^ | October 22, 2016 | William and Martha Dodd

This past summer, Hillary Clinton made this stunning and chilling statement in an interview on CNN: "deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs have to be changed."

She did not specify in that interview which faith's religious beliefs had "to be changed."

But now, thanks to WikiLeaks-released emails from the John Podesta's server, we have the context and intent of this statement.

Mrs. Clinton was specifically referring to the religious beliefs of the Catholic Church.  The Democratic Party is on record via Podesta exchanges that it would like to and is already working to sabotage the Catholic Church from within to help achieve the religious and cultural changes the party deems good for America.

In one email, Podesta assures a friend that he can "rest easy," for Podesta and his progressive pals have already created organizations explicitly designed to infiltrate the Catholic Church with progressive ideology, though Podesta cautions that the time may not be right for full revolution – just yet.  He continues: "We created Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good to organize for a moment like this. But I think it lacks the leadership to do so now. Likewise Catholics United.  Like most 'Spring' movements, I think this one will have to be bottom up."

I do not recall, in the history of our country, knowing of any candidate for president or for any other major office whose party has been found to hold a bias against any faith or religion and is plotting ways to "infiltrate" and change its Church's beliefs and practices through "revolution" from within.  Discovering such an outrageously un-American plot should be a frightening awakening for us all.

In modern Western history, the only other national political party to challenge beliefs and practices of specific religious faith was the Deutsch Arbeiterpartei

It’s also interesting that Hillary and her associates DON’T seem to think that ISLAM is in need of any reform. But if there WERE something in the emails suggesting that Islam needed reform, the media would ignore it. Absolutely, they would.

If you vote for her, you’re not a catholic.

If you vote for her, you’re not a Jew.

If you vote for her, you’re not a Christian.

All of our faiths are beholden to the 10 commandments.

One of which is “Though Shall Not Kill”

It seems so simple.

"You shall not murder".

Unfortunately, virtually all of the Catholics I know (family) are solidly and unquestionably in the Democratic camp. My dad opposed abortion, feminism, affirmative action, and gay marriage (which wasn’t yet even an issue when he died), but was a staunch Democrat and Republican-hater until his death in 2004.

To paraphrase Pastor Martin Niemöller, first they came after the Catholics...

It is sad that the non Catholic candidate is the one standing strong and courageous in the defense of the unborn.

Hildebeeste is not Catholic; doesn't claim to be. BOTH of the VP candidates are Catholic, but neither of them practices the faith. One of them is honest about it ...

(And for the record, neither of the VP candidates served in USMC. Their sons are currently serving Marines. Some folks are confused on this topic.)

I didn’t say I was a GOOD Catholic!! :)

Thanks for the correction. REALLY need to hit the good book again. Loved it as a child and as a teen.

Life distracts you sometimes from what’s really important.

Most English language Bible translations do say "You shall not kill". Numerous scholars of Hebrew and Greek assert that these languages have multiple words for "end the life of a living thing", and that the word used in Exodus and Deuteronomy means "unlawfully end the life of a living human being". In English, that would be "murder" not the more generic "kill".

I'm given to understand that your church offers an 'indulgence' for prayerful Bible reading. FWIW.

Silly question for semantics, but then you can’t “murder” an animal. Just kill it, I would assume?

NO, you can't. Not in OT Jewish Law, not in American Law ... Not sure about the Hindus and cows ...

Walk in to your town's police station with a dog and a knife, and hack the dog's head off in front of all the cops. You'll be arrested and charged, for sure but the charge won't be "murder". Animal cruelty is the most likely charge.

Pence grew up Catholic, drifted away, and now attends an evangelical mega-church. The Catholics would say he's still Catholic (technically), but doesn't practice ... and he's all up-front about it.

Kaine claims to be Catholic, but his support for murdering babies negates that. He's the dishonest one.

And speaking of that ... Is Tim Kaine homosexual?

Fascinating. Thanks.

Too many people, including myself up till now, consider kill and murder to be one and the same.

Any hunting folk out there already know the difference, I bet.

Hunting must be great. The only hunting i do is in the meats section of shoprite :)

Actually, you quoted the Fifth Commandment correctly. :-)

The Catholic Ten Commandments are:

1. I am the Lord thy God; thou shalt not have strange gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
3. Remember thou keep holy the Lord’s Day.
4. Honor thy father and thy mother.
5. Thou shall not kill.
6. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
7. Thou shalt not steal.
8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s goods.
