>We have not faught(sic) a war to win since WWII (let alone actually declared war).<
.
Why haven’t the military done something about it in all those years? The generals could have done something about it. Instead, they just “followed orders” just like Hitler’s generals did. They did not get away with that excuse at Nuremburg. Our generals are also war criminals of a sort by allowing their troops to die in a meat grinder all these years.
Amen.
“...I can’t figure out why anyone would put on a military uniform...”
I’m proud of my Army service but I’m ashamed and embarrassed by what the government has turned my Army into. These troops are doing Hill 937 over and over and for what?
As far as I’m concerned, let the cavemen fight right down to last man. When it’s down to him, give me a rifle and I’ll drag my 70-year-old bones over there and put a bullet in his head and head home for a cold one. I have a dream!
No, we’ll give you a pass. I’m amazed the MSM account actually identified him correctly as an EOD tech. Of course, the DoD release mentioned his job/rating, so that made it easier for the reporter. Most of the reporters on the military beat simply don’t have a clue. And that’s being kind.
As hard as it is to say it, I think you are right.
It’s difficult. One wants to be respectful and grateful for our military, yet at the same time, if we feel they have gone off the rails how can we protest them. Many of us are not anti-war, just anti-stupid-war. And I agree, some of the things our military people (and PMCs) are being asked to do is criminal or borderline criminal.
What a mess!
Well, like the rest of us citizens, military people are going to have to fight against the status quo. Harder to do in uniform when you’ve pledged to obey orders, but, it needs to be done.
>Harder to do in uniform when youve pledged to obey orders<
.
Nazi officers pledged to obey Hitler’s orders, American officers swear to defend the Constitution.
RIP Hero
Yes, but they also have to obey orders. It’s a fine line. If they do not they can be court martialed and even killed.
The point I’m making is that we all need to resist, but we who are not in the military don’t have as high a risk as those who are in the military. I still thing they need to resist, or leave as soon as they can.
