Reddit users (also known as redditors) are growing increasingly angry at pro-Hillary Clinton political action committee (PAC) Correct The Record over its efforts to promote a pro-Hillary narrative on the site.
Redditors are especially concerned that Correct The Records paid internet commenters are suppressing revelations from WikiLeaks release of Clinton campaign chair John Podestas emails, which have produced a flood of damaging revelations about the Clinton campaign.
Reddit, which describes itself as a source for whats new and popular on the web is divided into thousands of subreddits, which the site describes as sub-communities, each focused on a specific topic.
Whether or not a post does well on Reddit (and, consequently, how large of an audience it reaches) largely depends on how many upvotes and downvotes it receives.
Correct The Record is open about its efforts to combat lies and misleading narratives about Secretary Hillary Clinton on Reddit, to which it devoted one million dollars.

One community where Correct The Record appears to be unpopular is the subreddit /r/WikiLeaks, which has more than 60,000 subscribers and is devoted to WikiLeaks-related news and topics.
It looks like CTR is out in force and getting smarter. Dont waste your time arguing, just dig! one user posted on /r/WikiLeaks Wednesday, adding: Dont let them eat up your time. Get to work digging or spreading. Theyre wasting cash on man hours, dont let them eat up yours.
The PAC is similarly unpopular on the subreddit /r/DNCLeaks, which was originally devoted to crowdsourcing findings from WikiLeaks release of emails from the Democratic National Committee but has since been repurposed to crowdsourcing revelations from the Podesta emails.

“Kek” is a term from online video games. Whereas Americans & Europeans denote laughing as “hahaha,” for some Asians, particularly Koreans, it’s “kekeke.” Laughing in online video games is associated with trollish behavior (e.g. “I have an overwhelming advantage you don’t know about yet” or “wait ‘till you see what I’m going to do next!”). Some U.S. gamers find it amusing to use “kekeke” or “kek” instead of “LOL” in text to indicate trollish laughter.
How do we get there?
Well, that helps.
The ‘bingable’ reference I saw in a reddit thread was “the scriptures of kek” which led me to the Egyptian thing and I’ve also seen “praise kek”. These don’t seem to fit the ‘LOL’ substitute, BUT .....
I went back & looked at a few threads after reading your comment & have also seen just a ‘kek’ which from the context could obviously be a LOL substitute, but they do use LOL as well.
Interesting .... I learned something today :-)
>>The ones trying to spike these new revelations are the Huma Centipedes.
Good one!! Absolutely.
ping for later
Reddit trolls work for free.
KEK is also LOL in certain computer games.
Nope. The term “kek” comes from the online multiplayer game World of Warcraft. In the game, players are split into two competing factions. In order to prevent collusion, the communication between members of the opposing factions are scrambled in you chat logs, and yours on theirs. The scrambling is a simple letter-replacement algorithm (so all “a”s become “f”s, or some such).
An enterprising player, while scrolling through chatlogs, realized that the most frequently used three letter “word” in the game is LOL (for “laugh out loud”). That led him to the understanding that the game’s scrambler transliterated “LOL” as “KEK”. That led to the KEK meme.
You’ll see redditors and others use all kinds of derivations of the theme in order to express their enjoyment at something that is stupidly funny: Let keks be unconfined, praise kek!, that’s kek’d my sides into orbit, etc. There’s no connection to the Egyptian god (that’s just a happy coincidence)... it’s redditors coming up with new ways to use the meme to express their amusement at someone else’s stupidity.

“Hillary Clintons operative Terry McAuliffe arranged large donations for the campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe. Jill McCabe is the wife of FBI director who is investigating the Clinton email case.$$”
Not Comey’s wife ...but a Deputy Director’s
Nearly 250,000 people are registered on the The_Donald site and at any given time, there are around 10,000 or more active posters. The result is anything you post there very quickly falls off the boards unless you are lucky enough to get it pinned or you generate a lot of replies quickly. It's fast moving and obscenities are not only tolerated but seemingly encouraged.
However very few concern trolls and Debbie Downers on The_Donald. They get run off very quickly.
The worst part of Reddit is the voting system. You can upvote or downvote comments. Enough downvotes sends a comment into hiding/purgatory. The voting system can certainty inspire an echo chamber/circle jerk.
Thanks! :-)
I wonder if the WOW unscrambling was a programmer’s amusement, because the earlier Blizzard games (strategy, prior to the WOW MMORPG) Warcraft, Starcraft, and the custom map DOTA were extremely popular in Korea, and the “kekeke” trollish use for LOL preceded WOW by several years.
I’ve seen the “kekeke” ascribed to 733t-speech, myself. The proximity to the h on the keyboard and the similarity of shape (you remember 4343 for hehe?) tends to support that. The lack of trailing e on kek and the fact that it is documented in WoW is most persuasive in my view (though that certainly doesn’t preclude a programmer intentionally doing it).
Donald Trump should replace half the government workforce with Reddit users
Reminds me of the old Churchill quote( regarding Russia and 25 years of trying to figure the mess):"It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma; but perhaps there is a key.
We're 10 days out from the election. Kind of late for Clinton to be attempting to energize her base.
