I can tell you that Obama's people most fervently want her gone. And SA is better than most places from their perspective.

That we're seeing it at all is indicative of the degree to which the Hillary campaign is completely discombobulated and gobsmacked. They don't know whether to excrement or go blind.
I'll take a stab at this. Suppose the police go to a house with a search warrant to seize a stolen TV. They go into a bedroom and see the TV, but they also see drugs and sawed off shotguns. They will then amend the search warrant to seize the drugs and weapons. This simple step eliminates a LOT of headaches to justify seizing the items without a search warrant, because the judge who signs the search warrant has ordered the additional contraband to be seized. Then, if in court, a smart alec defense attorney challenges the officer and wants to know why he seized the additonal items, the officer tells him that the judge told him to. End of THAT line of questioning.
If a search warrant was granted to seize information regarding improper texting by Weiner and information regarding unauthorized storage of classified information was discovered, an amended search warrant could be sought to view, legally, the additional information which was found, so that criminal charges could properly be filed. If the FBI were to view the information without a search warrant and try to use it in court, it could all be thrown out, and then people would REALLY be pissed!
Now of course, what difference at this time, does it make? None, because Comey is still not going to file charges even if a search warrant is obtained. But if he at least goes through the proper legal steps, some future prosecutor can take up the case.
So the Huma/Weiner computer (well, actually its hard drive) becomes the critical item here.
Does the data it contains make it to DJT’s inauguration? Or does it go into the shredder?

This is confusing for several reasons. Humma Wiener said she gave all of her email devices to her lawyer to turn over to the FBI. If true, then these emails were on Carlos Danger’s machine. If the New York PD found classified emails on his computer, aren’t they obligated to notify the FBI? Then the FBI would be obligated to trace the source of those classified emails. In doing that, would they need to get a warrant if the NYPD already had a warrant for the content of Wiener’s machine? Or would the FBI need an additional warrant because this discovery was incidental to the target of the NYPD warrant? If the police get a warrant to search your computer for child porn, and they find state secrets your wife had accidentally transferred there, they can’t do anything about it until they get another warrant to investigate those? That doesn’t sound right, either.
I get the feeling that Humma didn’t realize her husband’s computer was cloud synced with hers.
Maybe the glass is very thick.

Huma’s mother and sister and brother and late father, like Human, are Muslim Brotherhood propagandists and Caliphate establishing strategists. Mom must be advising Huma on how to try to overcome this hurdle. Huma has been writing for the Muslim Brotherhood even while working for Hillary for 20 years. Huma’s done the Islamist thing without punishment for at least 20 years. Hillary will throw her under the bus in the blink of an eye, unless she realizes that Huma can do Hillary more harm than Hillary can do Huma. Huma can throw Hillary under the bus if the Muslim Brotherhood determines that the usefulness of Clinton influence and money is finished. Who will get the prosecutor’s “deal”? - Hillary Clinton or Huma Abedin or Cheryl Mills or someone else?

My guess is that it goes into the shredder. And then President Trump orders the NSA to produce everything it has, and it promptly complies. And when that happens a new firestorm erupts. Liberals will claim that it must be done with a search warrant. And they will fight the use of the information anyway because the NSA is not chartered to do domestic surveillance. And they will express shock and horror that the Government has been trampling on the rights of the people and has been SPYING on them. GASP!
In the second case, the case law is a little less clear. There is no definitive ruling by the Supreme Court and there is some conflict in the circuits. In most -- but not all -- circuits, the whole computer is regarded as one container and plain view again obtains. (You were looking for X under the warrant in the container, and could not help but notice Y.) But it would certainly be better to get a new warrant, just in case.

It does sound confusing. But the short answer is that if the police are searching for contraband, and find contraband they weren’t expecting to find, they save a lot of court challenges to take the extra time to get either an amended warrant, or extra warrants if other cases come to light. Remember that only a judge can issue a search warrant. If one is issued and the defense wants to challenge it, they have to challenge the judge who issued it. And as long as the officers who sought the warrant have been truthful, defense lawyers rarely win that challenge.
No honor among thieves. We could see all kinds of accusations and finger pointing very soon. My hunch is whatever Comey has is explosive and possibly criminal in nature.
